The Student Advocacy Program (SAP) began right here at South Tahoe High School (STHS). In 2023, Topher Lilly saw the need for fundamental change within the school. What started as a conversation among peers about repeated mistreatment, policy violations, and a lack of respect for student rights quickly evolved into a fully student-led initiative dedicated to standing up for those who felt helpless.

Today, SAP STHS is led by Leanora Hernandez and has grown into a trusted and valuable resource for students. We offer direct advocacy services for students and families, monitor school actions to ensure policy compliance and fairness, and provide leadership and career development opportunities. As the founding branch SAP STHS continues to lead with strength and integrity.
